Night temperatures
Nights at Lomas del Mar run a few degrees cooler than down on the beach, thanks to the elevation and the breeze off the hills. Expect the mid to low 70s°F (around 22°C) most of the year, dipping a little lower in the green season, when an evening on the terrace is comfortable in a light layer. Days are warm like the coast, around 90°F (32°C) in the dry season, so the cooler nights are the community’s quiet advantage.
Local Schools
The closest bilingual schools to Lomas del Mar are on the Playas del Coco side, about a half hour away: Lakeside International School on its farm campus off the Coco road, and Dolphins Academy in Playas del Coco, bilingual through grade 11. La Paz Community School’s Tempisque campus in Palmira is the other option at a similar distance, a full PreK to 12 bilingual IB campus. Matapalo and Sardinal also have public schools teaching in Spanish.
